Graphene Week 2026: Porto Welcomes Europe’s Premier 2D Materials Conference with 2DNeuralVision as Host Project

Europe’s leading conference on graphene and 2D materials, Graphene Week 2026, is set to take place in the vibrant city of Porto, Portugal. Organized by the Graphene Flagship and supported by the European Commission, this 21st edition will bring together over 500 international experts, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the latest breakthroughs in graphene innovation, photonics, electronics, energy, and composites.

Among the exciting developments for this year’s event is the announcement of 2DNeuralVision as one of the official host projects. This Horizon Europe-funded initiative is pioneering a new generation of low-power computer vision systems designed to operate under adverse weather and low-light conditions. By leveraging graphene and Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDCs), 2DNeuralVision is developing enhanced wide-spectrum image sensors and optical neural networks that promise disruptive applications in automotive, AR/VR, robotics, and mobile devices.

Why Graphene Week 2026 Matters

Graphene Week is more than a scientific gathering—it’s a strategic platform for fostering collaboration between academia and industry. With Porto as the host city, attendees will enjoy a rich cultural backdrop, including a traditional “arraial” street party at the World of Wines venue, blending Portuguese hospitality with cutting-edge science.

Spotlight on 2DNeuralVision
